This set of constraint management methods is divided into three main categories.

1. Those Constraint Management methods classified as "Direct and Proxy Approval" are methods supporting management activities using buyers or proxy buyers for constraint maintenance and enforcement.
2. Those Constraint Management methods classified as "Analytical Scoring & Portfolio Balance" are methods supporting management activities using scores and portfolio balancing for constraint maintenance and enforcement.
3. Those Constraint Management methods classified as "Modeling and forecasting" are methods supporting management activities using models for constraint maintenance and enforcement.

The mission of these communities is to: 

• Improve the practices within their focus area
• Help participants submit documented processes to the IPM Alliance for APM certification
• Mentor and provide role models to the community's participants
• Collect and distribute shared resources and information
• Apply methods towards social innovation
