We've been quite successful in using agile development practices with the Galactic Empire. It makes target dates more predictable, lowers the risks as a result of something being overlooked in the QA cycle, short development cycles so that the customer isn't waiting forever for a deliverable, and what gets delivered is what they want.
We've used it in such systems such as eMail (Empire Mail) and our EMS (Empire Management System).
