All product managers have to go through the dilemma of whether to include a feature in the product or not, especially when they are managing a relatively young product. All stakeholders, especially customers and sales, want to add more and more features. The addition of these features can increase the complexity of the product, resulting in high support costs, a lack of focus on value for the customer, and eventually, a decrease in market share.

Rishi Bhargava is a Director of Product Management at Solidcore Systems Inc, a enterprise software startup located in Palo Alto. Rishi Bhargava started his career at Ciena Corp as senior software engineer, where he spent three years working on optical networking technology before moving to Solidcore Systems in December 2003. He moved to Product Management in December 2004 and now heads up the Product Management at Solidcore Systems Inc.
