Si Alhir
The AgilePM CoP Captain

Webinar Summary: Ryma's May 20th Webinar was given by Sinan Si Alhir. Within the four-part series on Agile Product Management, this third webinar focused on roadmapping, which enables decisioning and evolution of a product as it progressively matures toward its vision.

While roadmapping is conceptually simple, the techniques emphasize a particular mindset; and while many teams enact the techniques, they don't readily internalize the mindset, and thus don't experience the benefits. This webinar explored creating actionable roadmaps using agile techniques, including understanding roadmap layers, releases, milestones, specific elements, and dependencies.

Jim_Holland: #pmv Roadmap milestones are critical in many enterprises. Used to separate and define.
ValWorkman: #PMV Roadmaps can help maintain strategic alignment in an agile process
CathyLiggett: #pmv: a good product roadmap guides internal activities of the company, binds customers to the organization- they know where you're heading.
ByronWorkman: Sometimes roadmaps are made to restrict agility, ex. does this feature align to roadmap, if no, it is not included in release #pmv

JeremySWright: How flexible should a roadmap be? #pmv If you have an agreed upon roadmap, what would it take to change it?
DavidWLocke: @ByronWorkman Downhill skiers have those poles that they must sky between. They are still agile. And, they are asysnc. #pmv
