One of the questions that came up during Q&A was if I had any examples of 'customer delight' that failed to do so. Another question asked for an example of 'customer delight' to one persona to which other personas were indifferent.
The example I gave (repeating it here for people who view/listen later) was around the Segway.
Dean Kamen created a wheelchair that could articulate from normal four-wheel operation to two-wheel operation, allowing the person in the chair to "stand up" - for example, in a grocery store to get something off the top shelf. This also allowed the wheelchair to climb stairs. Definitely a customer-delight feature, solving an unsolved problem (reaching high things and climbing stairs).
When the Segway was introduced, it had the same "stand on two wheels without falling over" capability, but for someone who can already stand, this innovation is a source of indifference.
